INSTALLING HOLLOW METAL FRAMES

This two-day, hands-on installation class will teach students how to properly identify frame types and how to install hollow metal frames in a masonry block opening, steel stud drywall opening and wood stud opening.

Sessions will cover: • Frame assembly and Preparation • Job Site Conditions • Specialty Frames including Lead Lined, Sound Transmission and Thermal Break Frames • Wood versus Steel Stud Anchors, Masonry Anchors and Floor Anchors • Preparation for Specific Hardware Types and Wiring Options • Common Mistakes and Corrective Issues

Students will learn by doing. Upon completion they’ll know how to install frames securely and correctly to ensure they’re plumb, level and squared.
