BIM and Beyond: ASSA ABLOY Opening Studio Showroom reaches out to building community

ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio Showroom is the latest addition to the ASSA ABLOY Innovation Fleet.

New Haven, CT – Good things come in small packages. Building design professionals are discovering this firsthand with the ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio™ Showroom (OSS), a Smart car with a pop-up computer system that showcases the powerful features and benefits of the Openings Studio BIM Software tools and PRO-TECH project management software.

The OSS is now calling on the building design community to demonstrate the capabilities of ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio and teach architects, contractors, distribution and facility owners how to successfully incorporate door openings into their BIM environment. A computer system extends out of the OSS trunk, providing a mobile demonstration of the Openings Studio and PRO-TECH software systems.

Door openings are one of the trickier building components to configure into the precise and exact BIM programs favored by today’s building design professionals. ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio offers a smart BIM tool that integrates door openings seamlessly into building design plans. Openings Studio creates and visualizes 3D doors, frames, and hardware objects and modifies their associated parameters for use in design, construction, and facility management.

The PRO-TECH Door, Frame, and Hardware System is a computer software package for hardware specifications, estimating, scheduling (creating submittal documents), ordering, receiving, and shipping architectural hardware, wood doors, and hollow metal doors and frames.

The OSS is the latest addition to the ASSA ABLOY Mobile Innovation Fleet made up of nine vehicles that travel North America to educate building professionals about door opening solutions that address security, life-safety, good design and sustainability.
